Shopping Malls in The Twin City – A Reality Check

10 years ago3.9K Views

Organized shopping is not a new thing for Bhubaneswar, since the day of its inception the market building been the epic center of shopping in Bhubaneswar. In 2004 when the forum mart opened up in Bhubaneswar and it redefined the way of shopping here. Since then many malls have come up in the city. But still when we see the standard of Malls in other cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad etc we may feel that malls in the twin city are inferior and may give a feeling like ,  are malls in the twin city can really be called  malls? None of the malls in the twin city can boast of having multiplex inside it. While some of them lack features such as gaming house and pub. Before we reveal what lies in the future let’s take a look at the existing one.>

Forum Mart

Build up area :- 2.5 lakh sq feet

Pal Heights

Build up area :- 1.75 lakh sq feet

Keshari Mall

Build up area :-  1.25 lakh sq feet

Maruti Mall

Build up area :- 40000 sq feet

Suruchi Plaza (Panthaloons) (Single store outlet added because people in Bhubaneswar sill call it as Mall)

Build up area :- 50000 sq feet

Mick Nick Mall

Build up area :- 35000 sq feet

The World (Single store outlet added because people in Bhubaneswar sill call it as Mall)

Build up area :- 40000 sq feet

Reliance Super (Single store outlet added because people in Bhubaneswar sill call it as Mall)

NSB Arcade (Cuttack)

Build up area :- 3.25 lakh sq feet

These are the existing malls in the twin city now let’s check the  upcoming malls and multiplex in the twin city. I am adding only those malls whose construction has started.

Malls with Multiplex

1)      The Bhawani Mall

Build up area :-  6 Lakhs sq feet

Set to be the first multiplex of the twin city and is going to open in a month or so.

 2)      Bhubaneswar1 (Unitech)

Build up area :- 4.5 lakh sq feet

The design of the building is really cool. It’s being constructed by  the famous unitech builder. Currently the footing works have just finished and mall is likely to be completed in 18 months.

@Devasis sir sorry for the spellings :p Its because I wrote it in 15 mins :p There r places where "I" should have been "It" I realized it later 😀 Hope u dnt mind that. At the beginning I thought of adding facilities and suggestion to better it but unfortunately I have no information what facilities would be there in the upcoming malls. Only thing I could find out is if they r going to have a multiplex inside it. My apologize for the spellings. :d
